Meet the Mind Behind MONNIX

Emerging from the shadows, Monnix is a 21-year-old artist, lyricist, and dynamic performer based in Los Angeles, known for eye catching performances and immersive, word- building songs that resonate with the soul. Monnix’s music focuses on haunting narratives, reflective lyrics and hidden gems that defy genre. Each track pulls from personal battles anD gut-wrenching experiences, showcasing their abilities as a writer and producer. With each song mapped to the full conceptual and emotional extent, Monnix paints a picture within the language of the mind.

Monnix’s alternative sound fluctuates in the world of dark pop, pulling from soft rock, orchestral tunes, and pulsing EDM rhythms- as heard in their upcoming tracks “Take Your Aim",  “Waltz of the Wounded” , and “Cold Hearts Don't Cry". In stark contrast to one another, “Take Your Aim” explores deeply into the perspective of one battered by outside perceptions through energetic cascades , while “Waltz of the Wounded” Is a doubled edged sword speaking to repetitive toxic cycles, paired with a traditional uplifting and romantic waltz. These tracks not only reflect Monnix’s musical versatility, but also the emotional connections and the worlds they create. Between breaking limits and gender norms, Monnix was just 20 years old when they traveled cross-country to study at Musicains Institute. From performing for the first time at age 17 to over 50 performances by 20, Monnix enhanced their bold, charismatic stage presence and pursuit of evolvement.

 

After writing their first song at age 11, Monnix matured their writing craft through short stories and poetry. With a dream in mind and a passion in their heart, Monnix never stopped writing. They strung together guitar and ukulele melodies to hug their lyrics, sing music as a one-stop diary for everything they felt they could not say aloud. This habit became the backbone of their lyricism today. What began as heartfelt and poetic songs soon transformed into a burning passion of musical self-expression through a dark and reflective lens. From physical to digital, Monnix expanded their catalog of capabilities into the world of production and arrangement, using pleasing photos, interpersonal relationships and experiences in youth to create instrumental that became a vital skillset to their creative process today.
